Ok, here we go. I have a this h/u and a DVA-5200, to go along with this i also have a Alpine PXA-H510. This is my problem, when im using the dvd player, and want to listen to my cd changer CHA-1204. I push the source button, then the a-select button then scroll thru my choices of audio sources choose, my changer and the dvd player shuts off. The head unit still goes back to the dvd screen, but the dvd player shuts off.

I would just disconnect the ai-net but then i wouldn't have control of my sound processor, and i would just mount my remote control for my processor but im trying to put all of this stuff in a 97 firebird so... Well i called alpine twice, the first time they told me i needed a different remote, the RUX-4168. Looked it up on ebay said it was mainly for the dva-5205, which doesn't make any sense to me. The second time the guy didn't have a clue about anything.

This is how i have it hooked up, my changer goes into the processor then goes out to the dvd player, and from the dvd player to the brain. Im using the optical output from the dvd player to the sound processor. I still had this problem before i hooked up the sound processor, if the helps....

If anybody has ever had this problem please tell me how u fixed it. If u have any questions that might help u figure out this problem ask away. Fist time i have dealt with this kind of setup. Everything works great besides this. Oh about the remote, alpine said that i needed this for a certain button, think it was v-select maybe, said that i needed to toggle a certain mode, the reason why i just don't buy this remote is because of the fact that i have the remote that came with the original dvd player. Again anybody, help

what are you trying to do ? liten to your cd-changer while playing your dvds on screen?

if so. then what you need to do is use the palying two source mothed which is,

you need to activate your dva-5200 thru the remote unit and then use the v.sel to show the pic on the screen and use the source to play your cd-changer.

keep in mind that you could still switch btween the two inputs thru the source button but to turn off the dva 5200 you need to use the remote unit, same as you used it to start it up.

hope this helps you

p.s

there is a black and gray ai-net conn on the dva 5200, one of them should be used as an input and the other as an output, check on that

Ive tried that, i can turn on the 5200 with the remote but as soon as i do the hu automatically switches to dvd mode, for some reason i cant turn the 5200 off with the remote. im trying to think of anything that can help explain the problem and as i was saying before, as soon as i try to switch to a different audio source it shuts the 5200 off again any questions to fix this prob are welcome thanks

One more thing, if i completely dissconnect the ai-net and use it as a stand alone dvd player if u want to call it that, it works fine, only problem is i can't bring up all the controls for my sound processor. i would have to use the corded remote for sound processor but i don't really have a place to mount it, one more thing when it is disconected the soure that would normally say dvd when it is connected says aux-1

did you setup the dva as a dvd and ? try setting it up as a cd with the h/u control as ai-net and see how it go?but remmber when you do this you will need to use v-sel to bring up the picture,,,

could you see how you have your dva connected to your system, like i said, there is a black and gray ai-net connector on the dva which one is connected to what

Ok i tried switching the mode of the player from dvd to cd, it didn't help, and it didn't want to play my dvd, it added another cd under my list, and all the cds were off by one, example is cd 6 was actually cd 5. about the gray and black ai-net cables, found a pic of a setup, the processor comes into the gray wire and out to the brain. I got the pic of alpines website, go to customer service and search for cva-1005 then click on cva-1005pfd thats how i had it set up, switch it around no difference

here is what i got off of the dva 5205(should be smae wiring as dva 5200)

ai-net from h/u to gray connector on the dva and black connector goes to pxa 510 then the cd-changer connects to the pxa 510,, and setup the dva 5200 as dvd,,

try this one,hope it helps

Well i havent had a chance to try the above post, new job, anyways i have another one, u everheard of a splice to conect two of the rgb cables up, the cable that goes from the moniter to the brain, i need to put it in the trunk somewhere, had it on the floorboard of the passenger side but i don't like it there so. I already ordered one from alpine, and it has two male conectors
