I am in the need of replacing the tweeters that came with my a/d/s/ 236is component set. I am running an active 3-way system and I think I overdrove them, they are sounding very harsh, like "tin cans" and not natural at all. I visited Bavarian Soundwerks here in Atlanta and I was blown away with the Rainbow line. Since I'm not familiar with their product line, I can't say which I listened to. Jason, one of their installers, said they were a prototipe that will be available soon.
Anyway, Bavarian gave the option of ordering a set of Rainbow tweeters, or the Alumapro version, since they are the same as Rainbow's. I can also buy a pair of a/d/s/ PX-concept, which are the same as the ones used by the 641px, the top of the line set before DEI took over.
Which one would you get? The are both pretty much the same price (a/d/s/ and Alumapro). I did like the Rainbow's, very natural sounding.
They amp powering them up is a Crossfire CFA-302, 75WRMSx2. I can pretty much cross them over at any frequency and slope, using my Eclipse CD8455 HU.
Thanks, Edison.
