_How much better? (image dynamics)

Hey guys, I am trying to decide between an image dynamic 12" id or idq. The only difference that I know of is the idq can take 100 more watts and is $50 more. So how do these two compare? Does the idq have better sq? spl? X-max will help on linear capabilites, but 2 mm does not make much of difference. They built the idq accordingly for a specified sound they were aiming for, thus being their SQ transduscer they also have a different motor. Both drivers have great sq but the idq has an art for blending.

the ID is like a baby IDMAX . the IDQ has a much smoother sound to it but a little bit less punch. Not saying both don't sound really nice. IMO the IDQ blends much better as stated above and is best in pure SQ apps

I forgot to ask what kind of music you listen to, because I recommend the I.D for hip hop listeners as satated by lex having a more of punch to them. As for the idq, If you do listen to hiphop I would get at least a 15'' or 2 12's, as for one would be more of a sq appt.

how do you like that Q sealed? I am going to seal my Brahma... sick of everyone telling me to port it... I dont like the ported sound I like things really linear

I have my Q in a 1.6 sealed and sounds pretty awesome. I use to have in it in a 2.0 ported tuned to 28 hertz. I am liking it sealed more though right now, it is quite smooth. Man I miss my Brahma 15 though, had it in a sealed at 1.8 and ported 3.5 tuned to 28. Loved it in a sealed but, I couldn't complain about it in the port either. The brahma is ridiculous on "Throw it up" it gives that can't breath feeling.

I was thinking of doing 2.5 sealed after woofer displacement, some people even said to go for 3 sealed.. not sure, I do have a lot of power

If I recall the old site stated that the 15''brahma could reach x-max @ 1.8cb sealed with 800watts, I could be wrong cause 1.8 seems a little small for a 15'', but the brahma could take more watts though.
