9mm vs 45 acp

Yeah, this thread...

My question is: how does a 9mm (+p) stack up against a 45 energy being equal?

The 9mm+P winchester PDX1 is 396 ft/lb while the 45 acp hydra shok is 414 ft/lb which I consider comparable.

So is the increased capacity in 9mm worth the neglible difference in energy (and significant less bullet mass) compared to the 45?

I know the 45 vs 9mm debate will never end, but I'm talking about comparing a 9mm+P that has a similiar kinetic energy to most 45 acp rounds.

i would always pick anything over a 9mm just don't like them never have, but if you want more capacity then i would strongly suggest a .357 sig its a 9mm bullet in a .40 casing and they pack a fucking punch.

that depends on what your shooting at
