99 Tacoma rebuild RD audio

interesting to see you didnt primer over the fender flares.
Just curious, how is this a 4 stage paint job if your not even priming it? Maybe I am missing something, and im sure my Dupont certification doesnt mean to much but last i checked.

Also I have usd house of kolors tangelo orange on multiple show cars. If you want to do it right, lay down a solid white primer, then the flake in a silver base, then the tangelo, followed by clear. This is how my last project turned out.

fucking hideous.

he asked why was it a 4 stage an the thing he laid out was a 4 stage how ironic lol, well that del sol looks good still would have looked better with chrome wheels maybe lol, but i can't wait to see this truck in the sun. a day like today that thing will hurt the eyes man the sun can make or break all paint jobs

wasnt trying to post dump, just trying to explain how house of colors 4 stages work, I assumed that what he was using guess I missed the post stating he was using PPG. that's my bad but I was not trying to post dump, I was just curious because he all ready laid the orange on the outlines, it just seemed weird that he missed the whole primer stage, special when he has white, black, and red under his base color.

dont think he is using primer except to cover the bodywork.. he did say they used white sealer.. imo sealer is all that is needed.. thier are many ways to skin the cat, all are correct each body shop uses diffrent methods..

Putting epoxy resin is much slower than fiberglass resin, you can't mix it hotter to speed up cure and outside temp can increase the cure time. Count on a minimum of 12 hours per coat.

You can get different cure rate caltalysts for epoxy resin. Fast or slow cure, the ratio does stay the same though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I used 2 to 1 med cure. Wet out is quick but finish layers take a while.

Paint is on. Stereo should start this weekend if I can get it put back together quick. Here is somewhat finished keep in mind that it still needs to be sanded and buffed also those are not the rims and tires staying on the truck, they are old ones that I didn't care about overspray on. Hope you dupont guys approve.

1st stage we used bulldog adhesion promoter

if you think it looks *****in now just wait till it is color sanded and buffed out that is my favorite part of the painting process making the paintjob look like glass..

Good job //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
