99 Tacoma RD Audio Rebuild

Interesting and very impressive, man! What vehicle do you have?
I know that so many variables do play a role in SPL and I'm not necessarily stating that it is absolutely impossible for the increase in DB. It's just very hard to comprehend. But on face value it should really make some sense being that he and you both are using almost twice the effeciency of the subs previous, and far less power. They fit the required specs and must like the box a lot better than the last subs did.

I come from nothing but trunk cars (mine at least), so I can only speak from so much experience.

After all these years my philosophical acceptance as to the "Universal Theory to Get Loud" is...

"If you have a small amount of air space to work with (i.e. trunk or whatever) the most efficient amount of cone area you can fit and the most power you can throw at 'em will yeild the best results. If you have a large amount of space; cone area, box design and tuning play a much larger role than just more power." At least that's what I think. If we quantified every single aspect to each specific vehicle, firing direction of subs, power, tuning... the whole 9, everything really is so subjective and relative to each install.

Very nice once again, and maybe one of these days I'll have something really loud too.
2005 Dodge Dakota club cab. with a 3.7 L v6. I have 2 duralast batteries in the back. They are the marine dual purpose start and deep cycle. 1000 CCA with 115 AH. And a Boss audio 30 farad cap. and I have a MLA module up front. so yeah. I am selling all 6 12's I used to hit this. And a 7th sub that is BNIB. they are the Hifonics HFI12d4.

I'll sell all 7 shipped for 225. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but yeah. Its a nice truck. The truck is sealed up enough I actually didn't see any difference in completely sealed to windows or door/s open. And when i turn the defrost up high your ears get compressed. lol Its a truck thats easy to get pretty loud I was supprised.

I had a single re xxx 15d2 run off a JL 1000/1. had the box at 4.3 cubes tuned at 32 htz. about 70 sq inches of port. slot with some 45's. Worked well. Hit a 153.2 on the dash. (i dont have a vid of that unfort. Had it metered in Sarasota Fl. At a local shop there (*dont remember the name but I'll try and find it)

But I was Shocked. But Yeah its a nice setup. I only had it in my truck for about a week. I just don't have the airspace to run 6. I can get about 10 cubes for all 6 but I don't think 1.5 cubes is enough ported for these subs. The sub has a weak motor strength. It needs alot of AS to run it. But yeah. I'll stop rambling on now

We'll have videos(nice ones) up sometime next week.
My camera takes slightly better vids than Mike's phone and I'll be sure to get down there and give it a listen.

Kenny swears it shits on the 16 Sonances and that it's a good bit stronger than the 8 10" Alphas ported, so I'd love to see it.

If anyone missed it, here's a vid of the 8 10" Alphas :

Haha, we should have taken pics of the bone yard we left in the parking lot in front of Kevins car. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
