99 Explorer XLT Two 18" BL's Walled Off

its not a big deal if the box is strong. i say just fiberglass the corners. and as long as u run a brace from the bottom of the port to the bottom of the box you should be good.

go to missinglinkaudio.com for information. they have awesome customer service. just email them. MLA will be on the april issue of mini truckin magazine.

anyways. just got off a comp. and did a 152.7. those fi's are not playin.

you'll be happy with yours i'm sure

Thanks for the info man. I'm only running BL's and half the power you are, but I should still be happy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Nice score by the way.

Well I just got in from working on it all day...posting some pics in a few. Didnt put any braces in the port because I didnt want to mess up the port area and I just didnt like the look of it. I did do a quite of bit of bracing tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Now gotta paint it tomorrow

Caulked all the seams

Was able to atleast hear this for the first time and WOW i love it, just ghetto rigged it for a minute so I could listen but had to take it apart, tomorrow I will get it hooked up right, and then make the trim panels whenever I get around to it. VERY happy so far, glad I decided to go with the wall desgin I wanted, and it isnt sealed off and I'm loving it, will get a few pics in a little bit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Still need to make the back end look pretty, and make it a true wall with the trim panels but it tickles my throat and wow sounds so good doing it. I am going to have to figure something out with the top board because it is moving way to much, so I'm either going to brace the port or make the top double thickness. I'm just glad its finally up and going after waiting so long //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It was well worth it tho.

Looks good man! If the port flexes at all just put a couple pieces of dowel rod in there vertically. You would have to remove some of the paint for the glue to adhere properly though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Can always use threaded rod too.

Oh btw, the screws for the subs go under the first layer of the gasket. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Haha ****...them babies are bolted in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif I dont know what I was thinking. Well I do actually, just in a hurry to hear them ha.

Yea that was the plan, you think just glue both end and then put a scew in the top would be good?
I would just use threaded rod now since you already painted it. Will be easier than sanding off the paint in the port.

If you did use dowels though I would sand off the paint, cut some dowels and glue them in, and then just put a lot of weight on the top of the box till it dries.

LOL, what I usually do is just peel the outer part of the gasket out when running a screw in. That way it doesnt get messed up either. Although I will admit I was in a hurry last night and might have messed up the gasket on my XXX //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
