9827 vs. 9847

Besides the fact that the 9847 is replacing the 9827, what differences are there between the two. I keep hearing about the internal crossovers that they don't have but my speakers alrady have crossovers so would I even need the internal one? Which would you recommend? I already tried the search but couldn't find the answers I was looking for.

If your components are running off amps(with crossovers) an second crossover is not necessary for the HU... Except for levels of the music on the fly. My HU has a really nice crossover and EQ options and i like it. It allows me to go BASS ASSAULT when needed and MELLOW out all in a matter of seconds. Im not sure what the differences in those two models are but I would personally get the unit with teh crossover. But if you have stuff running off amps your really don't need the Crossover

Yup, my speakers will be running off of an amp and they have external crossovers. Except for my 3.5s up front. They will be ran off of the HU.

Ok then the HU crossover would be helpful for those speakers. I would get the one with the crossover

If I am correct none of these have the internal xovers right? Would it be worth the extra money to upgrade to next one that has them just for 3.5s? If so, I am guessing the next one up is the 9830.
