'97 Passport w/Alpine 60Wx4 (no bass)

About three months ago I paid Circuit City to remove my factory deck and speakers and replace with Alpine XM head unit, xm receiver, and new speakers all the way around. When I got it back, I have minimal bass tones. My new deck is 60Wx4 channels and it sounds worse than my original factory deck. The "experienced" guy at Circuit City's shop says that I have a built in factory amp that's screwing up it up and showed me some factory "tweeters" and said he just rewired an Isuzu Rodeo and it fixed the problem. I looked in my Chilton's manual, and what he showed me as "tweeters" are actually vents for defogging my side mirrors. I really lost confidence in this guy, but don't really know who else to turn to. Anyone had or heard of a problem like this before? Any comment or idea would be appreciated.
