97 honda passport build

first off ill make a list of what all i have for it and the things i have planned then ill post the few pics i got and ill keep updating everytime i do more. its gonna be a slow build but its my first all out complete audio build. ive done simple stuff like amps, subs and acd players but im gonna go all out this time.

my ride: 1997 honda passport 2wd v6

its lowered 2'' in the back and about 3'' in the front on z71wheels...hope once i get all the audio installed it will sit level, one piece isuzu truck euros that are smoked, i have a billet grill,all clear lenses and 6000k hids for the front but it needs a new grill,bumper and valance.

what i have for it already:

4-12'' single vc 4ohm fusion reactor subs...painted the cones flat black..i thought the cones looked cheesy with the chrome and lime green. im going to build my box this weekend and use the unpainted one for mockup then ill paint it once the box is built. im still trying to decide how to build the box but i got it figured to about 3.2 cu ft for all 4subs if i go ported...im having trouble laying the box out to fit 4-12s since its only 3 cubes and some...so if anyone could give me some advice it would help

Ample Audio Exonic EX3000DX.. i will be wiring the subs at 4ohms so the amp will be pushing 800 watts through the 4 subs...only reason i got this big of an amp is because i got it on a trade

100sq ft of fatmat...going to start in the rear and go foward..deff going to have to order more but its enough to get me started

everything else im getting/have planned to do:

im going to be getting some 4ga wire this weekend for the big 3 ground upgrade

i plan to upgrade my alt, charging lead,all grounds, add a kinetik in the back with an isolater

in the process of buying a head unit..

it already had power,ground, rca's and remote lead ran but i pulled the cheap rcas out and the deh-14 cd player out today and ran one set of hooker audio rcas to feed the sub amp..ill be adding another pair for my front stage later on once i buy an amp and speakers

so thats it for now... if anyone feels like i might be doing something wrong just let me know...kinda point me in the right direction since im kinda a noob to all this..

went and picked up 2 20ft rolls of 4ga streetwires wire from djm4rshm2llow today...gonna use it for my grounds and to feed my amp

going to be building my box this weekend so ill post pics once i get started

ok so since ive had all this bs with the subs and what size box they take and blah blah blah...talked to a few guys here and a guy at a local audio shop and ive decided to build a single box for one of my 12s to see how it acts in a little bigger box than the specs call for. so i looked in the section with the free box plans and i printed out the plans for the 1.6 tuned at 32hz......drew it up on a sheet of mdf i had and cut it out. after i eat im going to start building the box. if the sub sounds good in the 1.5 im going to build a 6 cu ft box for all four. this is the first box im going to be building by myself so it might not look all that great but im trying

got just about all of the box put together...all i have to do tommrow is cut out for the sub and put the top on. it came out better than i thought it was going to so im pretty impressed with myself since its the first ported box ive built. i mean its not the best...had to massage a few pieces to get them in but its only a test box so hopefully i can do better on my big box...anyway onto the pics since everyone here is a pic *****...

i wanted to see what one of the subs sounded like in a 1.6 cu ft box tuned to 32hz since specs only call for .8 cu ft per sub...i couldnt get the layout i wanted so i went a little bigger. it was my first ported box...isnt perfect but its just a test box. its running off my punch 45hd bridged so it does not have full power but it hits. disregard the cd player out of the dash...i lost power going to it and did a quick fix to take the vid. so next ill be doing a 6 cu ft box for all 4

been a while since ive posted anything on the build...havent done alot latley just been gathering up diff pieces.

heres all the new stuff i got

the panasonic cd player that i picked up from REBELS33

40ft of 0/4 wire i got from my buddy for free....pretty big but it looks really huge because its double insulated..going to use this to run my bat, charging leade and grounds

the deal with the ample 3000d fell through and i picked up a orion hcca 250, bought a candance 5 1/4'' comp set yesterday brand new for 40 bucks, got my temp battery...i know its a little big but its brand new and i got it for 50 bucks, my power 100hd will be put on the candances and whatever 4x6's i buy for the rear not pictured is my stinger digital volt meter...waiting to get some stuff straight with the money order then ill have it. thats it for now...hopefully ill be starting on my box soon so untill nextime

that is some gnarly wire. The subs look better all black, good idea. Never really had any experience with fusion and haven't looked into them much so I can't tell you whether I like them or not, but it's looking good thus far.

yea the wire is used in big industrial generators...i can get more anytime. ive got the 4th fusion in my car on a punch 45 in the ported box i built and it sounds pretty good... im just tryin to decide if i wanna go ported or sealed and which way to face the subs
