So I'm about to start on a trunk build in a 96 dodge neon, with 1 15 and 3k. I'm probably going sub and port firing forward into the cabin. The sub is a Skar Zvx 15. I read they call for about 3.15 cubes net and I will be using AEROPORT.

With me seemingly overpowering the sub I was trying to get some ideas on the enclosure size and about how much port I should aim for. I was thinking 3 cubes net with 1 6" aeroport, tuned to about 36/37 hz. That's my medium for tuning SPL > Daily lows. I don't care i f I can play 25hz lol

Looking for ideas and opinions. Again mine is 3 cubes net 1 6" aero.

Thanks

whats the HxLxW gonna be? can the port stick out? same direction as the sub firing into the cabin right?
If you want it harder hitting, go with an 8 inch sonotube round port. A 6 inch will be suited for daily purposes.

I though about doing a 8 but it will have to be like 20 inches long. Don't think I'll have the space

This should do nicely 24d x 22w x 16.5h 11.25 inch per cube. A 8" was hella long and came out to 16.58 per cu.
Where do you get your source of 7 inch pvc pipes from? My local HD, ace hardware, lowes, and local plumbing supply stores only have 1,2,3,4,6 pipes. 8s, i'd have to go sonotubes for cost purposes.

Sonotubes make a 7". But i do have some some thick wall 8" pvc thats 7.5" inside. I was just statimg that a 8" areo well be a little muh on the port area. Pscho ports and areos can be had in 7".

can always raise enclosure volume and port area per feet will be tamed down and get a little bit more efficiency. Also need to account for sub displacement and bracing too. the sub displacement itself raises the tuning by almost 1hz.

5 cubes net. If it's to much back the power down, you will have headroom, be more efficient box and electrical wise, should be louder and play better than 3 cubes.
But the sub's like smaller enclsures. Why would I go 2 cubes larger? Just curious?

I actually kind of decided on this sub to it calling for 3 cubes
