I hooked up a new deck to my car, but It seems that my constant power has a remote cut-off via the cadillac. The car is killing the power so if I leave the radio on, it won't kill my battery. Basically I can't save my radio setting/stations, etc after about 10 mins. Is there anything I can do? Thank you.

sound like u have ur wire mixed up. did u buy an wireing harness.

I have a harness, I know its hooked up right. First off, my old shit stock radio would turn off aswell, so do my lights etc, this is so I dont leave my accessories on all nights. The radio work fine with the "switch off" because I have red and yellow going to constant off the cadillac. If I leave the car with the radio OFF, it will remember, its only after about 10 mins the car is Idle, will it lose this info. I think I have to run it off the cigerette lighter.

first off red and yelllow do not go the same wire. They go to the macthing wires on the radio harness.

I don't like to switch key on to use the radio. It really doesn't matter man. All it does is give the car always constant power. Cmon man. Its Deck = red+yellow + harness yellow. Harness red is cut off so it doesn't ground to anything when car is on. I've done this many times on many cars. I just kill the "remote turn on"

Anyways I got it. It will be:

Harness yellow constant (timed shut off) to RED switched on deck. Then Deck yellow constant to cigerette lighter.

This will make it so when im in the car the RED-Deck will be on (timed shutoff constant, if im not in car). Then the cigerette lighter will be my YELLOW on deck. This way will keep the factory timed shut off. I could just do it how I said above, but then I would lose the auto shut off.

ok first off ur post if very unclear an I am lost.

1) do u have one deck or 2 decks

2) what are u trying to accomplish.

3) why are u trying to accomplish this.

I am being very nice to u and i would expect the same. If u do not want help look somewhere else.
