9512's in a daily driver

digital designs subs are really nice for SQL & SPL.if you get a bass knob you'll have the best of both worlds by you can adjust the bass knob to have SPL or turn it down for SQ daily driving.
how can they be really nice for sql and spl, if u need to turn it down to have sql? anything can have good sq at a low level (even solox and hcca's). don't do a bass knob, they're worthless. set it up to how you like it, and want to listen to it, and then leave it alone

i can vouch that it is in fact a gain knob, not a bass knob.and i personally like it if im not in the mood for too much bass,i can simply turn it down for convenience instead of having to mess with the amp.ive tested the theory of it allso in case any one is wondering

If you say so:rolleyes:

well the better option to a bass knob would be to have a deck with a seperate sub volume which most that have a sub preout have a seperate volume for the sub
Why exactly is that a better option? Most subwoofer volume controls on a h/u will allow you to boost the signal, creating additional risk of clipping. As said above, most gain knobs these days do not allow you to exceed the gain setting you have on the amplifier, allowing you to adjust your subwoofer volume level independently, while not having to worry you are boosting the signal artificially.
I think you just dont understand how most gain knobs work.

OK yes a remote gain knob but most amps i have seen refer to them as remote bass boosts which is far different from a gain adjustment
