95 Camaro box help

Hello all,

This is my first post, but I'm a long time reader. I needed some help on the design of a ported box for a 1995 Camaro Z28, I wanted to go with a single 12" Alpine Type ARRRGHH in a 2.25cu ft. box tuned to 32hz. But I don't have the building skill to make a whole bunch of cuts so a rectangular box that would fit would be nice. Does anyone have any experience on a camaro with a ported box? Any help would be greatly appreciated. You guys are awesome, just by reading through these forums I have learned a whole lot.

we just sold our 95 camaro...it was a convertible so it probably had a smaller trunk then the hardtop camaros. regardless, if you trunk is as small as our's was, i would definatly do a fiberglass box

i really don't have the resources or the know-how to do a fiberglass ported box. I seen a camaro that had a ported mag d2 in it. Thats kinda what I wanted to do i think the post is: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=134418&highlight=mag+d2+camaro I wish I had the dimensions for that box it would make it alot easier. Thanks for the thought though.

your best bet may just to go with a subthump box. http://www.subthump.com

But I wanted a ported box so I could get the most low end extension. I want Late Night Tip to make the car flex:up2somet: Plus I was looking to save a little denaro by going with a single woofer and less powerful amp:greedy: thanks for you input though.

I worked with bholtmeier on his box for his camaro. The absolute max dimensions for a rectangular box in a 95 camaro are: 28" x 15" x 13.5".

The trim piece that goes along the bottom of the hatch was actually taken off just so that the excursion wouldn't touch it.

I beleive the box is 1.9 cu ft. tuned to 33 hz. Let me know

I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to the type r. I've never owned one, but my friend on here, ctminime, has had 2 in his car before. PM him and I'm sure he'll help you out. That, or just read in the official type r thread.

a 1.9 box will suffice, however ive seen that they like 2.5+cf ported. i had 2 type r's in 4cf tuned to 30hz, it was loud enough...not as loud as my 10s now

i was working on a fb box up until i sold my 96 back in may. fiberglassing isn't hard when you get the hang of it.
