Hey guys,

Right now I have a chance to buy a 99 blazer with 106,000 miles for 3,500 bucks but my plan was to buy a 94 hatch to remove the backseat and make a huge box backthere.

Since the blazer is really cheap I'm wondering which of the 2 vehicles would be louder ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Thanks.

blazer will be louder.

The rear window in the civics are really flimsy and lets alot of pressure out.

It is a split rear hatch. The bottom folds down and the glass folds up.

But there are some really good advantages in the civic

Parts are cheap

Really cheap on gas

Hold there value

But if you are looking for a spl car the civic wont get the job done as good as the blazer or alot of other cars.

But if you really want a honda and one that will get loud.

Can be had for a good price.

Crx

I feel sorry for ya. Not that I particularly like civics, Chevy has so many problems characteristic of their vehicles its not even funny, and the reason I discourage my friends from buying em.
I know that. I'm not a chevy fan either but I have this opportunity to buy a MINT 99 blazer with only 106K for 3,500 bucks.... (IN PAYMENTS).. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

I wouldn't be too worried about the blazer at that price. I bought a 2000 s10 pickup new (4.3) and drove it till it had about 125k very hard miles and had no problems. I drove that truck harder than most people can even think about, I slacked on oil changes at times, and it still ran good and was reliable.

That's what I'm thinking..

I heard that the 4.3L vortex motor that blazers have are really good and last a really long time..

Dont get me wrong, chevy motors are **** good... Just be prepared to have problems like the infamous spongy brake syndrome, suspension wear issues, and being a general PITA to work on. Having to take half the dash apart to change the HU, and come to find out after ding all that, that the wiring harness you need is $140 because GM decided to tie in some sort of engine diagnostics box with the radio wiring harness FTMFL!!

Well... the wiring harness thing was just an experience in my buddy's 04 cav.

yup, that 4.3 is a solid motor..they are noisy but they are tanks. Also it has more room for alt and battery than a civic, and will take the weight of a very large system a little better.

Never had any of those problems in the 6 years I owned my truck. Guess some people are just luckier than others.

Oh, forgot...only suspension problem I had was axle hopping during burnouts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Really? We have a 95 suburban, and we bought it in 2000. We had the front end rebuilt with new bushings and ball joints, etc before we made our road trip to california that summer... In 2004 the ball joints on the passenger's side had to be replaced AGAIN. Dont even get me started on the spongy brakes. It wasnt too bad at first, but its to the point now (we dont drive it anymore though, the brakes are part of the reason) that the brakes dont even engage until the pedal hits the floor... and the master and booster have been changed and didnt help. My buddy's 04 cav is starting to get spongy brakes.... at 60k miles //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
