same here. i got randomly selected. im like i know this is not random and the guy had nothing to say.that really chaps my ***. racial profiling at its finest. by the white man. any white guy could say that the jets are close to the window or board a plane and question the safest place to sit, as a matter of fact im sure it happens all the time. those comments are in no way inappropriate. this country is full of racist jerk-offs. those people should sue. as a person of arab descent, i feel for them. just like every time i pass through airport security im selected for a "random search". fvck that. i was told by a woman who used to work for TSA that theyre not even the least bit 'random'. if the woman at the desk think theyre even a little bit suspicious, they print something on your ticket and when you show the security people they know to search you.
yeah, its horseshit. thats pretty ballsy of you to have said something. onc,e i was in the airport like a year after 9/11 when security was really tough, and my dad was in the airport busting balls, asking me questions like "did you bring the detonator?" or "Do you have your al-qaeda yearbook? etc etc etc...and i had to shut him up quick because thats a guaranteed arrest and most likely a beatdown.same here. i got randomly selected. im like i know this is not random and the guy had nothing to say.
ya i did not really care it screwed us over, we ended up missing our flight and had to stay a night in new york.yeah, its horseshit. thats pretty ballsy of you to have said something.

they gave us a complimentary ride to a hotel of our choice:laugh:****. thats terrible. the airline should have comped your hotel or something.at that point, id have made a stink and started mouthin off...
ya the main one in newyork i think thats what it calledjesus....was this laguardia?
And who's the racist? Why is it assumed that it was the "white man" responsible for detaining these people, or that it was the "white man" that said something to the TSA about their comments? Your comment in itself was racist as well.that really chaps my ***. racial profiling at its finest. by the white man. any white guy could say that the jets are close to the window or board a plane and question the safest place to sit, as a matter of fact im sure it happens all the time. those comments are in no way inappropriate. this country is full of racist jerk-offs. those people should sue.

While I don't condone what happened, the TSA also doesn't take any chances with security anymore. Being in Boston and having two of the 9/11 hijacked planes leave our airport the TSA at Logan airport don't let anything slide. There's at least 1 person a week taken off a plane and arrested for something, it's so common now that it doesn't even make the news anymore. And sorry to bust your racist bubble, but a large portion of these people are the "white man". The people on this flight should have been give a full refund and allowed on the very next flight, but thats not how things work anymore, for anyone.
you're basing your evaluation on the kid's quote. who's to say that he/she didn't change their statement when questioned??that really chaps my ***. racial profiling at its finest. by the white man. any white guy could say that the jets are close to the window or board a plane and question the safest place to sit, as a matter of fact im sure it happens all the time. those comments are in no way inappropriate. this country is full of racist jerk-offs. those people should sue. as a person of arab descent, i feel for them. just like every time i pass through airport security im selected for a "random search". fvck that. i was told by a woman who used to work for TSA that theyre not even the least bit 'random'. if the woman at the desk think theyre even a little bit suspicious, they print something on your ticket and when you show the security people they know to search you.
jesus. i almost made that mistake. had a wine key in my carry-on, but remembered it right before the security checkpoint so i threw it out. im sure that would have led to an arrest. had a lighter once, but no arrest, they just took it.I have never heard about the ticket issue before seeing that post, so yeah it might be true, maybe not, its a good idea regardless. And I said they should have been given a refund, but thats not how things work anymore. The people that get taken off a flight around here don't get back on the next one and don't get refunds either, they usually go to jail. There was a guy a few months ago that forgot about a box cutter til he reached the security checkpoint, he took it out and handed it to the TSA security people and they had him arrested for carrying a weapon into the airport, no refund, just jail.
you should run around screaming "allah" at the gate.im an american citizen born and raised, only HALF arabic and still have to get to the airport a couple hours ahead of time just to leave myself enough time to get searched then get my flight
