Last time I checked, only minimal knowledge on acoustics is necessary for a simple box build. However, I can't give your box builder much credit because he drilled a hole for the wire to go through rather than using a bolt, or a terminal cup. While it's not necessarily bad... the resistance of a good quality brass bolt is minimal, not even noticeable, and will have a much tighter seal than silicone around a wire...
Free bump but $800 is a bit pricey.
My bad. I didn't read the whole thread.True. I changed the price to $600 though which I think is very reasonable . Build done by Ryan Autry and Ray (unsure of his last name), best in the buisness.
Well I would suggest lookin em up, or asking the (og's) on this board about em...actually...you can just do a search for ryan autry. My bad. I didn't read the whole thread. However, I've never heard or seen any of their work, so I stand unswayed. And, as per your box, not really impressed. Any boon can build a box... designing is another thing all together... and what most people don't do when building a box is be creative. Wasted_Ink came up with these great terminal plates that use a bolt... it allows for the best power exchange while looking decent and sealing well.
Nothing against them, or saying that your box is bad. I'm just saying, in my opinion, I would've done the wire thing differently.
