Wondering if anyone could give me a detailed explanation on the benefits and purpose of a couple of my 880 PRS options. The manual is a little vague in this area.

BMX= ?

Compression= ?

Loud= I don't know specifically, but it has always made my systems sound like crap.

I know SLA = source level adj: To adjust changes in volume between sources. (eg.Radio vs CD player)

BBE= I guess this is always on at some level, you can select + or - from 0. Always has helped SQ in all the applications i've used it in, including my home stereo. +4 over does it a little though.

XOvers = Looking for a little better example on how changing slopes effects sound. (eg. 18-12-6)

Tanks!

I think it's explained in the manual as to what they do, but I can't recall what was written.

Loud = boosts the low and high frequencies mostly at low volumes as to give better sound with out having to crank the volume. Most of the time after a certain volume level is reached, it makes no difference.

XOvers - The slope of the x-over curve is just that, a slope. The number you select makes it steeper or shallower.

Example - Say you have a tweet HP x-over set at 2khz @ 18db an octave. An octave below would be 1khz and at that point the tweeter is playing 18 db quiter than it was @ 2k hz.

All my slopes are @ 18db, but thats just my personal preference. Do what ever you think sounds better it's really all up to you. I set all my slopes and frequencies just by listening to music that I am familar with and setting it to how i want it to sound...so YMMV
