8" Subs

Alright, here is the deal, I have a Mazda RX-8 and I was to add a SQL system. I want to do a system yet have trunk space so nothing too crazy. I was looking at getting 4 sealed 9kv2's getting around 225W to each sealed. Then I came across a used 8W7 for $200 and then I was thinking of buying a brand new one, so two 8W7's and then I don't know what amp to get to run them.

Anyways, what do you guys think? Should I go with the 8W7's or what? I've had a 12W7 in my Blazer and loved it, I just want it to sound good, but I'm scared if I go with an 8, I won't get enough bass...

IF you are worried you wont get enough bass then look at the RL-i8 or go with the 9kv2's...thatd be the "ahh" factor having 4 lil 8's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

if you have room go with like a single 12" or something

Whats your budget?

I think the 2 8W7s would be loud. And then find an amp that puts out 300watts to each sub (300watt 2-channel amp) and then make sure when you wire the subs your amp is stable at that certain ohm load.

you 4 re8 would do u fine. As long u get the right amp. I mean if u are worried about the size don't they have plenty output.

Yeh that's the only downfall if I go with the 8W7's is finding the amp. I had the same problem when I had my 12W7, the SVC 3ohm kills for getting power to it unless you buy the JL Audio amps, so if I do two 8W7's I will get a 1.5ohm, what amp out there will put out around 600-700W @ 1.5ohms?

How much are RE 8's each? and what's their RMS?

I really like the sound of the W7 series, but I don't know, I'm into SQ, but when I want to have it, I want bass that will WOW people, especially if they are 8's and they think I have 10's or 12's in there.

Will most likely be a sealed setup unless I have room for ported, which if I go ported, I doubt I can do 4 8's Sealed will fit easily.

If trunk space is a factor I would go with 2 sealed 8s. A ported box would have to bigger and therefore defeating the purpose. Just so you know, 1 sealed 10 would only need .7 cubic ft of eclosure and an average 12" would only need around .9 - 1 cubic ft of volume. Just something to think about.

Haha, tell that to my 12s, which are recommended to have 1.4 to 2 cubes sealed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
