8" subs----$50 max....

How are the Assassins power wise? 350rms....I have about 1000 watts RMS to work with @ 1 ohm....3 of them ported sounds like what I'd want...would they do alright power wise with a few less watts or do they like a few more than rms to really get moving??

These things look very interesting...and I've been out of the loop too long. Gettin ready for a new setup sub wise in the next few months. The last time I was heavy on the forums, the Type R's in oversize CRX boxes were in....now whats the cheapest way to get loud sub wise?

edit: I'd run either 3 10's or 2-3 12's

keep telling yourself that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif street beating rap with the crunkage...maybe not...most other gener's...it may not be as evident if you didnt have a good sub to reenforce the frequincies in the first place but once you hear them the music becomes more alive and if it isnt there you miss them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
it's true. i have alotta mp3's and 97% of them are either rap or R&b and a huge HUGE majority of the bass doesn't drop below 37Hz........... at best. i have songs that i thought put cracks in the ground, but when u run it through a spec analyzer, the song didn't get below 42 - 45Hz

i think what he is trying to say is that, no, most bass doesnt drop below 35Hz or whatever, in rap music, but if you go searching thru other types of music, other than rap, you will find notes below 35Hz

Personally, to get the same lows as a larger driver 12", 13" or 15" which is what subs are for........I think you will need at least 4 8" subs working alot harder to reproduce the same amount of low end. Unless space is an issue, I would never trade displacement on bass. Thats just my opinion. Do you really want to look at multiple 8" subs working their azzes off to produce bass that 2 12's or a single 15" sub can do without breaking a sweat???? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Bingo. Rap isnt the only music with bass and it certianlly doesnt have the lowest as a whole.

Harmonics in a kick drum are as low as most rap beats. Not even talking about the lowest note on your standard 4 string bass guitar (~41Hz) 6string bass guitars dip even lower. Piano and keyboard notes go down into the low 30's and keyboards can synthesize even lower...just to name a few Rock bassed instraments.

Because its cool to look at a few small subs doing what 2 12s or a 15 can do...Not something you see everyday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

a few here or there shouldnt make a difference to a humans ear, and not much in the technical standpoint either, so you should be fine when it comes to watts

thats a very good point there.

couse i was thinking getting 4 8inch subs to save some room in the trunk.

Dont get me wrong i do have room for a 12 or a 15inch, it will take up half the trunk.

I know this, I was asking more in the tense of are these subs extremely underrated powerwise or overrated...but you answered my question...thanks:D

Does anybody have any info on power ratings and VC configurations on these subs? Any feed back from anybody who's ever heard or used them?
