8 ohm tweets on 4 ohm crossover?

Well, running the 4 ohms with the 8 ohms since power is exponential you would get about 1/4 of the power to the 8 ohm tweets, that would help you to get a balanced load in terms of the circuitry but you might end up getting too much tweeter then. How many watts are you planning on running because if it isn't too much a resistor bridge in the system would prolly be the best way to go, however if you are running a lot of wattage it wouldn't work because you would just blow up the resistors.

The crossover would end up as a multistep. The cap would work at one freq and the coil at another. I had a setup like this a long time ago when I didn't know any better. My saving grace at that time was that the tweeter could handle a much lower crossover point than what the crossovers I was using were designed for. That and I was only running a tiny bit of power.
