I'd of probably built it out of birch, would of been hell of a lot lighter and just as strong.

sadly thats not that true any more lol well at least for 13 layer baltic russian birch audio fanatics did a test on it and i think it was just a few tenths lighter but i agree on strenth mdf is cheap as **** and damages easy birch may cheap small pieces but never cracks
