i got some cdt cl-6x and the midbass ...well it blows! i have been pondering some comps. i got fiberglass kicks so if i go with comps i wanna stay with 6 1/2's. but what i was wondering, could i just get some 8's and fiberglass them in the door, and use the coax for the highs? you know get a crossover and run the 8's from like 80-200 and the coax from 200 up, or would the comps be better?

i think that feasable, but your problem will be the EQ of the system, its going to be real hard to cross them over because the CDTs use a passive crossover, and that would not be useful when setting the mid to bandpass at ~200~2k and lowpass the tweet at 2k, or somthingg similar.

youd need an active crossover to get a 3way frontstage to work, and that will be kinda hard. maybe if you got rid of the tweet, and just highpassed the mid, and use the 8" for the midbass... a 2way front stage is prolly much eaiser than a 3way for sure.
