my silence is deadly...
DependsSo due to low power, a single 12 or 15 would provide more spl regardless of less cone area?
one really good 12" sub designed for that power could out do 2 lesser 12" subs.

Efficiency and proper enclosure will play a large part. A 15 has an SA of 177' date=' 2 12's have an SA of 226. With 2 12's I'd lean towards SSA Dcons, possibly Fi X's or the IA 187.
With a single woofer, the options open up some more.

I probably should have said this earlier but I have a HO alternator. I got it for the harsh winter conditions I subject my car to, so with that come no voltage drop to the amp. It gets constant clean power if that helps settle efficiency.
well 700 watts is very low for 2 subs... you will be happy with an sa 15 and spend the extra money on a custom box for it.
No. How does power dictate how many subs you should have?no...but you only have 700 watts so your going to want to do a one sub setup

Yes.
I've liked the Dcons I've played with. Heck, they impressed me so much I still have two 10's. Very musical, and they get louder than I expected, while sounding better than I expected. For the price range and purpose, I can't think of better.Having demo'd a bunch of DC subs ( lvl 2 through lvl 4 XLs) and some upper end Fi subs, I think it's between DC, Fi, and SSA based on what I've read.
Fi X, SSA Dcon, or DC level 2s
Any suggestions out of these three? I believe I read that the DCs have the most Xmax, so maybe I higher potential for moving more air?
this or level 2s..really all are great choicesMach 5 ixl, great for little power.
