6x9's dont work anymore after i grounded my RCA's

i had my 6x9's on HU power, and my components ran off of my eclipse amp. well, i kind of shorted my RCA's thru my amp (stupid noob! i know) so i grounded the rca's, now the amp and components work fine. so i decided to hook my 6x9's back up since im now able to use my front AUX input for my amp. the 6x9's dont play, and i cant fade front or rear. only balance left and right. never had this prob before. although, last time my frontstage was hooked up to my rear RCA on my HU cuz the fronts had bad alt whine (which is why i grounded them) when i had them on the rear, everything faded, balanced, and 6x9's work. now with the rca's grounded, and using the front aux input, my 6x9's wont play and i have no fade functionaliyy. any suggestions?
