6x9 wiring question

Ok, on the back of my type-r 6x9 there's 2 terminals.. one is wide, one is skinny. however theres no markings as to which is positive or negative. The instructions that came with the box say nothing about which is which, and I can't find it anywhere on the net.

Which pole is + and which is -? or does it matter, as long as they are both wired the same way?

The wide one should be +. If you wire them opposite, the speaker will be out of phase.
