6x9 sounds bad. HELP!!!

I just bought two 6x9s and installed them in my car. Kenwood KFC-6982ie. They are running off my head unit. One speaker sounds fine. The other however doesn't. It sounds a little more harsh then the other one. It has a small scratch on the main tweeter. Would a scratch ruin the sound?
