6X9 bass

My 6X9s seem weak with bass. They distort really bad. They are Pioneers. I have them amped and at volumes past 12, it distorts bad. I turn bass off on them, and it is still bad. The highs are good past 12, but the head unit goes to 62. Should I just upgrade them

dude, they're 6x9's...they can only do so much. And they're pioneer to boot.

i dont care too much bout the bass. they just distort past volume 12, which is pathetic.

the amp is rated at 75W RMS and the speakers are rated at 80W RMS each. I have hooked them up to a mono amp before. Maybe they're fried. They didn't smoke or anything

Hey, I'm selling my Kappa Kappa 693.7's (6x9's 3 way). They have been *rarely* used for just under 9 months and never abused or powered more than 90 watts. They are rated 110rms so they are in great condition and never even saw full potential, I'm looking to bridge a more powerful set of components. It's in great working condition with no rips or scuffs or anything. Looking for $75+Shipping.

I had these hooked to a Reference475a myself, until i blew the amp (did not see it coming) in early august. Perfect working condition, minor cosmetic flaws but not on the speakers themselves. Anyway, I thought they provided pretty decent bass (considering they are only 6x9s) and definitely had clear quality with no audible distortion in the time I used them. Getting rid of these, trying to get a better set of components to run active on.

Are they hooked to the head unit or an amp? If they're amped, turn the gain down.

they're amped. never amped them before.
