Having a car that runs in the 13's really isent all that fast, my friend has a 2000 grand prix GTP that has a supercharged 3.8 liter V6, he has intake and exhaust and hes in the 13.8s and its quick, but nothing thatd scare someone or throw your balls up in your stomache, i think in order to be able to "scare" people, you have to run 11's

also the corvettes can take over 1G on the skidpad, thats more then a STI / Evo can do, and you say they dont handle well?

You also say the veyron does a zero to sixty in 2.5, well guess what.. the Lingenfelter Corvette does a zero to sixty in 1.9 ( yes i didnt typo that, its 1.9 seconds ) and its not even AWD

Typical response from some idiot.
Dieing to PROTECT your country is honorable.

Dieing trying to force a way of life onto another nation is NOT honorable.

Grow up kid.

Faktor, you really need to grow up some. This is coming from a guy that has dealt with bullets and RPGs flying past him in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you are in the armed forces, and you die in any war, you ARE dying to protect your country. The government goes to war based on the best interests of the nation. Do I like the fact that I could have been shot down? No, but it's my **** job. I do it so punk little kids like you can sit here on the 'net and spout off about how there is no honor in what I do. I wish we could put you in a room with the families of all of the fallen military members from Iraq and let them deal with you for 30 minutes. If you came out alive, you would definitely have an altered outlook on what you said. So before you go spouting off about honor, why don't you go to the recruiter, sign a contract, they have 2 year enlistments, in case you're too scared to do more, and spend a couple tours over there. I've done 3 now, been shot at more times than I would like to remember, and have a real appreciation for what we have in this country. That is something I believe you are lacking, an appreciation for everything you have here.

Now thas funny, I give respect to the people who went to no doubt, but the best interest of our country? Come on now man.

Oh i dont wanna read the whole thread but how did a thread about the new corvette goto a debate about the war in iraq?

See the interesting concept here is that my "old brick *** benz" has more quality through and through than a brand new Vette. When was the last time Chevrolet milled an engine so fine that it didn't need gaskets? Oh wait that's right, NEVER.
Umm, wrong again. Actually, GM has made quite a few engines that came out of the factory with no head gaskets, no manifold gaskets, I could go on. Granted, most euro cars are assembled much better than your typical american car, but the sweeping generalization here that GM has never made a powerplant without gaskets is false. Also, I can pretty much guarantee you that there are some gaskets in your engine. You need valve seals, you need piston rings, those are gaskets.

Oh you are mistaken good sir. I appreciate everything I have and everything I don't have. Typical response from a jarhead, threats of violence to force someone to change their mind. Hmm that kind of sounds like what we are doing in Iraq right now! Oh wait, it's EXACTLY what we are doing.
This isn't the middle ages, where there was honor in dieing. Today's wars consist of leaders playing chess with their pawns (you.) Make no mistake about it, if you died in Iraq, Bush wouldn't give a rat's ***.

Edit: By "best interest for the nation" did you mean best interest for Bush? The war in Iraq is benefiting the American people in no way.
will you STFU already?

JARHEAD?? You need to pull your head out of your @$$ real quick boy. I wanna hear the pop all the way over here in Fayetteville. I'm Air Force, if you must know. As for best interest of the nation, we went based on the best intelligence we had at the time. Granted, it was proven that a lot of it was fabricated, probably by your beloved members of the European Union, but by then we were in it too far and there is no way to pull out cleanly without serious adverse effects. As for your little rant about the middle ages, how were those wars any different? A king declared war, and the so-called "pawns" carried out the order. It was the same deal then as it is now. We just have better toys to play with today. So sleep tight, you North Carolina educated moron, I swear kids graduate high school dumber than when they started kindergarten in this state. Sleep well, knowing that myself, and the hundreds of thousands of my fellow airmen, marines, soldiers and sailors are on duty to protect your right to insult us for doing a job you are neither physically or mentally capable of performing.

And the smart thank you for it.

Who all here owns a corvette and put a system in it? Or personally know someone who has. I've been thinking about it but eh don't know if I want to or not.

Except for the fact that generals in the middles ages led their forces onto the field. You know on the front line, not 2000 miles away in a house filled with luxuries.
Protect? Last time I checked, we were attacked by Afghanistan not Iraq. Am I able and capable of being in the military? Sure am, however I feel it ignorant to put my life on the line for one man's ignorance.

So run by me which of us is the uneducated one?
Well, considering you're only 18 years old, and have at most a high school diploma, and absolutely ZERO idea how the real world works, and I have a pair of associate's degrees, and a decade over you on age, with tons of real world experience, I'm gonna have to say I definitely have the education advantage over you. Especially since my education came from the north, and not 48th ranked NC public schools. And, if you actually knew anything, there are generals out there on the front lines too. Every major base in Iraq and surrounding countries has at least a one star stationed there. Do you think the military is going to send every last General and Admiral over there? If you do then you truly are an idiot as mentioned numerous times by numerous different members. Who would run the bases here in the states? Or the ones in every other part of the world? Seriously, you need to grow up, you probably idolize John Kerry

Don't forget.

I'm done. As for the '08 corvette, and all the 'vettes since they abolished the flip up lights, I think they resemble an NSX more than a Ferrari. Just my opinion, but then again my wife says my vision is starting to go bad.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

To get a 4 cylinder car to run 10's, would run over 7K. I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about.
I see you have an Acura RSX-S. What mods do you have? What are you running with that?
I never said the civic would have full interior, it would deffinetly be gutted. Its been done, i don't know what else to tell you.

I currently have Intake, Exhaust, Nitrous. And that got me into low 13's. I just got some transmission work done and haven't been back yet. Clutch upgrade, lighter flywheel, and my favorite mod so far, New final drive. I can't wait to see the times.

I might get some slicks and then for sure would be in the 12s. Althought i don't understand what this has to do with a civic id gut and throw a k20/24 in.

PS: I like 2008 corvettes.
