640 SQUARE FOOT OF DEADENING, Complete Two Tone, HUNDEREDS of LEDs (2001 Maxima)

I SHOULD HAVE FRIGGIN DONE THIS YEARS AGO!!!! But time being the greatest of teacher has taught me many things. The main problem I have had in keeping everything in good condition has been the susceptibility of the paint to scratches. BUT NO MORE. SO, this time around, order of operations is: PREP, PAINT, CLEAR, CURE, SAND, BUFF!!!

I WILL LET THE RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES...I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HOW THE REST IS GOING TO TURN OUT!!! :jump:

you shouldn't even dignify that with a response. Your doing exactly what you want to do. Your not here to please any one else but your self. It's your money, your car and your time. Do with it as you please.
your doing one hell of a job. Keep up the good work. And thank you for sharing this with us. I know someone learned something from your install. I know I learned a little about LED's
Thanks, man...I really appreciate that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

We're getting there, dude...FWIW, I am certainly looking forward to recording some audio clips once everything is put back in. After getting the LLP in what little sections I have, it is NOTICEABLY quieter. Even if it's just the proverbial "butt-dyno", dude, it's awesome

I bet. Pretty impressive too that your just a guy doing this just to do it. I don't remember if your sponsored by them or not. But non the less pretty cool.
Have you done a test fit on all the panels? Would be a shame if you beefed everything up so much that none of the panels fit any more.

ME: Some dude using his own cash to try something new. IRONY: this is the FIRST car I have ever worked on. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I had nigh-zero mechanical aptitude going in to this but thought, "what the hell"? I don't have any sponsors, I MIGHT approach JIC once I get to the exterior as that's going to be the last item I need (a really good drop), and I would love to run their suspension, but it's just too much $$$ for me to validate spending.

I have started putting some of the panels back in, pics are coming this weekend. Yes, we've hit a snag on one panel, but that's because I added some Overkill Pro to the backside of the panels...one side fit fine, the other...ehhhh...not so much. :crap:More to come

Looking good so far!I might have missed it somewhere but what exactly do you plan on doing with the LEDs?
Thanks, man. The LEDs are replacing all of the OE lighting terminals. While I can buy one premade, I have yet to see any that are using this particular LED. I also have about 6 superflux LED bars in blue that will be going in shortly...I have spent the entire day running the new cabling for the power supply...I made a f00king MESS of the last wiring job and getting everything in proper order is taking significantly longer than anticipated, but is that now how it always works?

Ah nice man. Going all white for LEDs?

But there is nothing more satisfying when you'll be done with all this and having it work just the way you want. So all the mess of wiring jobs is worth it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

Uh...you'll see. The title says 100's of LEDs, and that's not an understatement.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

That polishing compound you are using is some of the worst stuff I have ever used. If you do use it, make sure to follow it up with a good finishing polish. If you think they look good now, wait until you do that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

How exactly is your paint no longer susceptible to scratches, though?

The build looks incredible. Love it.

Now what have we here? Time to unclutter the absolute rats nest I made of the wiring, ja? First things first, we've got a nice set of fasteners to properly secure all of the wiring we're going to be using.

Next up is this awesomeness. What we have here is a 7-wire cable that will allow us to easily identify and wire all of the LED bars throughout the car. Even that being said, though, we've got some serious work ahead of us.

Using these fasteners I can really get a nice, secure fit.

Here's just an example as to how I am splitting the cabling. This time around I am doing the lighting a bit differently. The seven wires will be split as follows:

(1 - 3) Driverside footwell, rear passenger footwell, door map pocket

(4 - 6) Passenger footwell, rear passenger footwell, door map pocket

(7) Dash vents (6 LED string)

That's all I got for the wiring for now. It took SIX FRIGGIN HOURS to run the cabling. Although this time...it's clean. It's well secured. It's well identified. So I'll consider that a fair trade-off. :rollsmile

Ok, time for the most nerve-wracking piece I have. Since the a-hole body shop f00ked this piece up so bad, I have to repaint the top and bottom and PRAY my tape job holds well, doesn't peel the paint AND I tape the lines accurately...

DSC08140.jpg

*wipes brow* SUCCESS!!!!! Well, let's call it 95%. There are about 4 very small spots that peeled, but we're not going to lose sleep over that.

Now, a nice motivator has been the harassment I have been receiving from my coworkers, and I told them I would have the rear section DONE this weekend...so...I got it done! This was also a good time to clean and condition the leather, and ****, that took much longer than I thought!

looks good, but how the hell do you see out of that rear window with all the stickers?
I hope you're scraping those off since you're taking the time to customize the whole car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Interior looks sick man. keep it up

Thanks, d00d. The stickers are all PBA stickers and have been accumulating since 2004. I don't have the gall to stand in front of a bullet for a complete stranger, but the men in blue DO, so the least I can do is show my support for their heroic efforts.
