Ok, so I have in my trunk 2 12"s with a kenwood 600w amp. Now I have another 600W amp and I want to get one speaker for that amp. What RMS's and Peak power should I be looking at when I shop around.

Also, wat do i need to connect everything together. A crossover, right? Obviously i've never used one. Im goin to get a cap, and a thicker gauge. What gauge wirering should I use? Help me out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I see someone has nuthin better to do with his time ^^^^... im bout to leave so how bout u help me out and give me some info
leave ***....go to SMD for advice. take the flame suit with you its not going to be any better over there. take that cap and use it for a paper weight or a door stopper

To the OP, a CAP is NOT a substitute for an inadequate electrical system. If someone at a local car audio shop told you this, they flat out lied to you!

As for wire, just get a 1/0 kit with distribution blocks and be done with it. Nothing sucks worse than having to rip the 4 gauge kit out and re-run a 1/0 wire because you told yourself you would never upgrade.

As for subwoofers, look for something that is within your budget to handle the power of your Kenwood amplifiers at its optimum impedance.

One word of warning about Kenwood, they tend to CEA rate some of their amplifiers at 4 ohms and the 2 ohm power ratings are overly optimistic. Also, many Kenwood amplifiers WILL NOT run at 1 ohm, even though Kenwood states that they are 1 ohm stable.

ETA: In after the OP.

Also, I don't believe in running mismatched subwoofers unless the mismatched sub has real similar T/S parameters. Running totally different subwoofers can cause cancellation issues and make things worse instead of better.

no you can't do that... #1 all 3 12's need to be identical #2 they either need to have their own amp each or you need to run the amps together (if you can) to all 3 subs, and they either need their own individual enclosures each, or 1 enclosure for all 3.... and no cap
