Hello. I have a 09 Galant with standard system. The thing has 1" tweeters on the dash wired parallel with 6.5" polk 2 ways on the front doors. Then 6x9" Polk 3 ways on the rear deck. The front doors are rated at 55w rms and the rear speakers are rated 100w rms.
I'm adding a 4 channel amp and am worried that I will blow out the tweeters because it will send too much power to them. But I am also worried about adding aftermarket tweeters because they may priece the hell out of my ears with the amp. And I'm also worried about what can happen with my system (safety/electrical wise, not sound wise) if I just take the tweeters out because they are parallel wired with the front speakers.
I would get lower rated aftermarket tweeters (like 35w rms) if it still allow me to get the full power out of the front speakers (55w rms). Or I would just take the tweeters out as long as it is not going cause potential damage to anything. Any suggestions?
