6" midbass

any suggestions for a good 6"midbass. i was thinking of running the JL 6w0 but it looks like they wouldn't work on my qlogic kickpods that i have..i would b able to feed them abt 100watts rms...

6.5" fit?

To play midbass and midrange? or dedicated midbass?

the 6W0 are actually 6.5" and they have like a 3" mounting depth. So yeah, they won't like qforms. Besides, the qform is way to flimsy to handle a 6W0 as it really is a subwoofer.

they are, but you can x it over as high as 300htz and it'll sound good

you can mod the Qforms. also, they have new ones for this year that fit 6 1/2's. still need to deaden and stiffen the heck out of them for a beefy mid bass driver. vent it so it isn't a small sealed enclosure, and don't allow the rear wave to leak to the front.

until i personally experience one better, DD W6.5LT is where it's at for a 6.5" midbass driver. i was thinking about running 8's or 2 of the 6.5LT's. but as soon as the new model got released and i put it to the test... end of story. i decided 1 in each door is plenty.

if you get them and they aren't shreddin' like a mofo, you have rear wave cancellation and/ or too much baffle vibration and flex. 50hz up they are unstoppable.

sorry abt the ignoarance but who makes the DD W6.5LT ?

i was planning on maybe tunning them around 60hz...since im going with the Polks SR6500 that should very well take care of my mids...also my truck come with a standard speaker hole on the middle of the dash. I was considering maybe running a dedicated mid range there aswell, just not sure what to use & wire it...i was hoping to find a DVC 4ohm midrange, but havent been able to...

this is the new version. that top plate is 1/2" thick for referance....

they are single 4 ohm only, 3 1/4" mounting depth, cast basket.

with only 100w, you could about get away with running them with no HP xover. they are nicely efficient, they will get loud with the power you have.

this is the only part # i found for my 90k5 blazer-QL-K1006B01. it says fits only up to 6-1/8"

Qlogic most likely hasn't released them yet or updated their site. they are new for '07 release.

if there's no close dealer, contact DD. they will take care of you.

haven't contemplated mod'ing the doors to put your speakers there?
