Hopefully your not talking rear fill. Only '80's and 90's hair metal sounds right with rear fill; mullet optional.

I may catch flack for saying this,

but i personaly like the older kicker ds6930

and have been quite pleased by them in my vette.

I liked em so much I actually cut the doors to fit a second pair in.

so I have them as rear fill - and in the doors

but I also have a REsx18 in the hatch as well so im pretty shure I cant tell what good quality sounds are. lol

If you talking image dynamic 6x9's then the 6x9s are better than the 6.5's. The only reason 6x9's have lower sq is because few companies make higher end version of the speakers in that size. Beyond that though the 6x9 has more surface area so a higher effeciency and lower extension. In the case of the ID drivers, it's the same speaker with a bigger cone, think of it as stepping up to a funny shaped 8, cuz that's basically what it is. Anway I ru xs69's in my kick and they sound very good.

the difference is based on the shape of your ears.. I have oval shaped ears so 6x9s sound much better as they create an oval wave.. if you have round ears better go with a 6.5.. if you have goofy square ears better get some l5s or l7s

i have had great luck with the pvi component 6x9 as well
