6.5 in a 6x9 Slot

I was wondering what sort of fabrication needs to be done in order to put 6.5 mid drivers in my Ford Explorer. The opening is 6x9. Any ideas?

most fords are 6.8's? there are adapters to mount 6.5's in thoes openings.

most on line places will have them. if there is a best buy near you they will have them too. some speakers new will come with diffrent adapters. i just got a set of pioneer comps that came with diffrent adapters including thoes.

there easy to find.

WIth them being plastic would it make more send to make my own adapters out of MDF?
