5kw - 6kw daily driver?

Wanting a single driver than handle 6000-7000 watts 'all day' shows a lack of experience, nobody makes one. Wanting one that still sounds good while doing it? Well that's just being ridiculous.

This industry/hobby needs another paradigm shift back towards efficiency. People are really getting carried away. I read a post the other day where a guy claimed his 2400 watt substage was purely SQ oriented.

x2 i like to stay under 1500 rms total for my systems and even that is a bit much i think.

Bigger/more is better. It's the American way..

little to no woofers can take that amount of power unless its in the perfect box. or unless u have a terrible box with crazy impedence rise then u could run an amp of that size per 1 woofer. thermally its pointless because there is no way any sub out could stay cool during long periods of play.
i was just throwing out the idea even as completely impractical as it is. i really like my single 15 setup and was going with a what if scenario if i went to 5kw+. Chances are i'm sticking with my single kx 2500.1 and reconing to a 1ohm load with an adequate electrical and call it a day.

A buddy of mine runs a Stetsom 7kw on a pair of MT12s daily. I don't know of anything in production that can take 7k daily...Cactus maybe but I don't think they'd be very musical.....Audiopulse are musical but wont take 7k...both companies accept testicles for payment
ah yes i've dealt with TC before and their pricing...

like i said, throwing out a crazy idea on the table. But it was cool to hear about high powered setups pushing spl woofers pushed to thier limits. thats why we buy em //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I know if i have 5kw rms on tap i wont use it for only burps lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ive heard of some subs taking 5km rms very well but to what extent i wasn't totally sure. 5kw+ is alot of heat for a voice coil lol
