5k Watt RMS Sub and 2 Batteries but no Capacitor. Safe?

Ok so to understand... I have a 1200Amp battery and a 600 battery in my car. If or when the juice runs out from having the bass on really high for a prolonger period of time, the sub will be requesting juice directly from the Alternator which will die out because it can only give 80Amp max... So for how long would i need to keep the sub running for all this to happen? 5 minutes? 10? 20?

Power comes from the alternator first. The batts will try to keep it above 12.6 as long as they can.

1200 amp tells us next to nothing about the Batts we need the make and model of them for access to their full specs.

I say sell cause that sub has a 4" coil and will require a good amount of power to even get it moving and being you might have 2K on tap (real world 1500watts) you need alot more power and alot more electrical. Hope you have a very fat wallet.... 250-350amp alt, 3-5 g31 batts, multiple runs of 0awg, and another 3 of those in phase amps then you might be close to feeding the sub what it needs.

Since when is 5 batts and multiple runs of 1/0 necessary for 2k?

He's got 2 extra batts, he needs a HO alt and a direct run of 1/0 to the battery bank. He will be good.

Re reads what I posted to power this sub he will need a min of 3-4 of the current 2k amps he has thus the reason for many batts and runs. 1500 watts does not even tickle that sub...

I dunno where i got the impression that i had 4k W RMS... lol Well i'll be upgrading everythign at some point in the future in any case. For now i'm just gonna leave it running with that crappy 2k Amp. Funny thing is that i thought it was on full 4k... If 2k makes my eardrums go nuts, i dunno what 4k will do to me

Oh you were talking electrical for your suggestion, I see.

5 Batts and 2 runs of 1/0 along with 300A+ of current charge would be optimal if that sub truly handles 4k daily and you plan on giving it that sometime (have no experience with sub)

The same way people get the impression they are running 2k rms when they are really running 200w

That sub can take 5k with ease.. 4" flatwound coil, 5 stiff spiders, Real kevlar cone. Back in the days you could see these around town/meets but they stopped selling to the US I think so now they are no where to be found. http://www.ground-zero-audio.com/english/05_pw15spl.htm
