Well I have a new system planned but I have to sell my AVIC-D3 first before I can continue with it. (If interested, check back this coming weekend. After finals are over, I'll have pics and price up as well as an XTD2000D for sale)

Anyways, I basically need around 60-80WRms @ 4ohms for fronts/rears and around 200-300 @ 2ohms for the sub.

Any ideas?

Planned system:

Pioneer 9800BT

JBL P650C fronts

JBL P652 (maybe 652S depends on depth I have to work with)

RL-i8 subwoofer

I'd love the JBL GTO5355 but I can't find it anywhere. I also found the MB PAB 5400 would work nicely.

I'd like to try to keep the amp around $250 or so.

Those kicker refurbs on ebay... 100 X 4 and 400+ sub.

The ZX series has a 24db low-pass... the higher slope may help keep the illusion of bass up front.

How about a JBL GTO 755.6 ll ? You can get them on Ebay for what you want to pay or less.

I can second the kicker refurbs from hifisoundconnection. Haven't had a single problem with mine.

I'm looking into the ZX series now. I just have to wait and see if I can sell my AVIC-D3 before I go buying anything.

The zx700.5 could definitely fit the bill. Output is close to 180x2 @ 4ohm and 485x1 @ 2ohm and then run your rears off of HU power. Also look into the memphis belle amps.

I wouldn't bridge the fronts. I'd just run them off the 70WRms @ 4ohms. The only thing I need to worry about is the 420WRms @ 2ohms for the sub. That's more than enough for the RL-i8 but I have seen people running around 500WRms on them so I should be okay.

You should be fine. I was just throwing up some birth sheet numbers, so you could see that they are a bit underrated.

The Boston GT-50 has a unique Q-control for the front comps to tweek your midbass... a lot of nice features but it's more expensive.

The sleeper is that mondo Fosgate power 1000... that thing will do around 2,500 watts tot. RMS.

One of the older Us Amps would do nicely, or hunt for a baby belle.
