500x2@2ohms Vs 750x2@1ohm? RL-P's + MD2

i've seen people give them 750rms, but i dont own one (yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif ) so i cant really say what they can handle.

What size RL-p are you talking about?

Taken from the product page for the RL-p 12" :

The Premium 12 is available in dual 4

and dual 2

voicecoil and will reach full excursion in most applications with between 600 and 700 watts.

Taken from the product page for the RL-p 12" :
All Premium Series drivers are produced in dual 2 and dual 4 voicecoil configuration and are optimized for small to moderately sized enclosures with input power levels between 400 and 1000 watts (conservatively rated at 500 watt RMS).

Oh, what does conservatively rated then? lol i feel stupid. I really want to get the most output out of them. Going to run 2 12's.

i gave my RL-p 800w sealed, so you shouldnt havea problem at all

but i dont know hwhat box you have. what i would do is keep turning the gain up until you hear "the noise" and then turn it down a little. thats what i do, not reccomended to everybody tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

heh.. thats what i do too. Going ported tuned to 34hz-ish.

When I heard it were you pushing it 600w ported?

good thing to do if you can hear that awful noise of unlinear movement and distortion from clipping......but an untrained ear may not be able to catch it... best way to tune without a dmm or Oscope

I have a few more q's

which would be wiser, wiring 2 d4 subs to 1 ohm together or wiring 2 d2 subs to 1 ohm each?

If i do wire 2 subs seperately at 1 ohm each would that give my amp a .5ohm load?

yea 600 is my guess i have no clue how much my amp puts out

ahm i would wire it to the highest ohm load possible, in this case 1 ohm. the amp will run cooler and more efficiently
