5000-6000 watts of power need dual alts?

guys im really stuck here..if your running 3 amps with about 5000-6000 watts in total

and run a yellow top under the hood with 2 kinetiks of there strongest models in the back with a 300 amp alt..will that be able to take care of it all or am i looking at a dual alt set up? and if i have no choice but to do dual alts..what kind of things will i need besides 2 alts(lol) im going to have a mechanic do it for me..

you don't need dual alternators.

Lots more batteries instead is about the only option...I wouldn't do dual alts

wont the alt have a tough time with 9 total batteries?

The alt would have a hard time keeping them all supplied fully.And depending on the vehicle you are limited on a bolt in dual alt bracket.If they don't make one you will need to find a spot to put it and make one or remove an exsiting component and replace it wit an alt.Just add a few more in the back say 3 or 4 and get you a nice 80a battery charger to use periodically to give them a good charge.

after around 260 amps alternators lose their higher idle amperage.

eg: 300 amp alt idles 120 while a 260 amp alt idles 150 iirc
