500 vs 750watts.

Im gettin two of the new 12inch SI mags. Would putting 750 to each of them be considerably louder then putting 500 to each. I would put 750 into both but I wanna save money and I dont wanna worry about an aftermarket alternator along with new batteries.

x2. Unless it's a major current hog. But I've never seen a 750 watt amp that draws enough to need a new alt.

well it would be 750 x 2 =1500rms i believe.... you may need a new alty or batt.

People need to realize that a new battery WILL NOT give you more power to use when you are driving.. The battery is used to start your car and used when your car is not started and you are listening to music and have the AC on. The only thing that a new battery will do for you is get you longer listening when you do not have you car started. If you need more power while you are driving you need a new alternator not a new battery.

With 1500rms, you might be able to get away with a better battery and the Big 3 depending on the size of the stock alt.

i had 2 batts on my pair of amps and my voltage dropped below 9v

now i have 7 and it stays at 12.4 at full tilt

depends on alot of factors, but generally not too much double the power will gain you a max of 3 db which is considered noticeably louder to the ear.

batteries give your system something to draw from rather than ******* the life out of your charging system and dimming everything.
