np...

The Octanes had real quality control issues, Acidic. Not to bicker but I think he'd be much better off with the Profile I linked to (and would still be sending the same power to each sub)
Que? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ???

The amp that AcidicDreams linked to was built by Phoenix Gold. It was one of their entry-level units from the Octane series.
Unfortunately the Octanes in two or three different batches had real quality control issues and consequently the instances of return for warranty repair/replacement was inordinately high. As a result I personally do not suggest the Octane-series PGs to anyone. On the other hand I can say good things about the California-series Profile amplfiers due to hands-on experience with several of them (the monoblock, or single-channel amp I linked to earlier was one of said California-series amps).

HEY!!! Morning all... Im back, and I had a question but I already forgot it... ****. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

But ya Prowler573 thankx for the heads up

EDIT:::

Oh in case I forgot to say something Im looking for two 12" with a powerful [best money can buy for my budget] AMP... and a box, unless I can find a friend that has one or will sell me one old one cheap.

OH I FORGOT TO SAY that the 80 dollar kit that comes with RCA cables and all the goodies also includes a 1/2 something capacitor, which im sure my Honda will need. [dimming lights]

You should check with some local audio shops for amp kits. where i live i can get 20ft 4awg, 20ft remote wire(blue wire), 4ft 4awg ground wire, 15ft 16awg speaker wire, 15-20ft RCA cable, inline fuse holder with fuse, and ring terminals(all tsunami product)for about 30-35 bucks.

as for needing a capacitor it's not really needed, your better off just buying a few extra feet of 4awg or 1/0awg power wire and running a Big 3 alt upgrade which could be like $10-15 more of wire.

i would go with the suggested AA Assasins if you want to run a 2 12 setup, since you need a box with the extra money you have left over from the amp kit your considering, you have plenty to buy for matirial for a box

as for a budget amp, Profile will match those subs pretty nicely. i have used profile in my time and am using one now. they are pretty good amps.

but yeah call up your local shops for amp kits and see what they got, when i do installs for friends i buy most wires down at my local shop. everything else subs, amps, headunits are bought online. not worth their prices.

huh, I was unaware.... ohh welll the profiles are reasonable amps I suppose. I'd look for something used. In fact this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300003276832&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1

will probably go for less than $120... I'd get the Zappy anyday over profile... then again it depends on what the reserve is...

EDIT: ****it.... I should RTFT. You want 2 12's, the zapco would only be appropriate for 1.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif :crazy:

EDIT::: WHats ohm... IM CONFUSED!!!

EDIT2::: I have the Aiwa CDC-X304 deck....

try this for 500...i got the quarts comp for front,quart co-ax for rear,my rockford 800a4(100x4),my 2 mtx mxs 1204 subs,($299 each retail),maybe throw in the box,some monster cable rca's.

you could,for now,run the head unit to the fronts and rears,run the rockford bridged 2 channel for the subs.

and i'm in irving!!

I dont think the stock front and rear speakers will take any extra juice from the AMP. GOt any links to where I can buy these things? im not gonna buy them yet, but Im gonna "look aroiund" till I make my final decision... By the way, Im all kinds of confused with this... but with u guys's help, I'll get it done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

no dude,use you cd player to run your front and rears,use the amp for the subz.about 400 watts a sub.
Hmmm.... Any links to some good suggestions? I want [ideally] two 12's and a good AMP, box, and all the wiring for the 500 HARD earned dollars... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

AND YES Im gonna run my stock speakers off the deck, and the RCA cables that go to the AMP, then from there to the subs. Right?
