You're not really looking at a subwoofer, that's a midbass you're talking about...

yeah 400 hz is almost lower midrange, without a doubt midbass territory. Peerless XL 8's are a good driver if you can find them. Nextels are good too. I think someone linked to the ever popular daytons already.

if you could fit the 1008's mounting depth, holy crap that would be a nasty mid bass driver. i'm assuming it's an IB door application?

i was going to give it a try myself. but i was more than impressed with what i got out of the DD W6.5LT, i decided not to.

Please dont do a single 8 in the center console, it will destroy your imaging...Two 8s MAYBE if done right...But dont play them above ~250HZ
