I have a 99 Ford Crown Victoria and have a JL 500/1 along with my choice of either 2 12w6v2's in the sealed prowedge box or 2 12w3v3's in the same box.

The 12w6v2 is rated at 400rms a piece and the 12w3v3's are rated at 300rms a piece.

Im sure either way it whould sound really good but which is the better option in this case. thanks

From what I understand, a single 12W6v2 would be an excellent match for a 500/1.

You might not get the most output from two of them off the same wattage. However, you might try and sell the 500/1 and get more power for less money and power the pair of 12W6v2s very nicely.

If you'd rather not sell the 500/1 (hint: no one on this forum buys JL in the classifides) I'd say you'll get more bang for your buck with the 12W3v3s

1 12w6v2 sealed I would go with the 500/1. 2 12w6v2 sealed I would jump up to the 1000/1.

2 12w6v2 ported to JL spec the 500/1 does pretty well. I ran that for a minute. SQ wasn't as good but it got loud.

Ive heard mixed opinions on which way to go with. Some say it whould work out really good with the 12w6v2's. JL recommended me to use the 12w6v2's off the 500/1. I guess the best thing to do is to try both setups since i have 2 prowedge box's ready for the subs to be put in.

the w6 are rated 400wrms a piece but can surely take 600 easy. i run two of them with a bxi1606d (1600rms overrated watts..so thats about 1400 roughly) and the excursion is insane.

if you plan to keep the 500/1, imo go with the w3 cause you'll be starving 2 12w6's
