I have the same thing on mine except it's 20% but in the direct sunlight it looks almost see through it blows.
That is the difference between the charcoal tint and the semi-metallic tint. Semi-metallic is more reflective whereas charcoal is darker and absorbs more light. Another thing that made my windows look darker is that my Accord's interior was black on black. In theory semi-metallic is supposed to last longer than charcoal.

On my Mustang, I had a tint shop install 15% over the existing legal tint job which was 50% front windows, 35% quarter windows, and 15% rear window. My Mustang doesn't offer the same privacy that my Accord did, even though technically it is darker than the Accord was. I still haven't done my windshield because I need to get my medical waiver approved and hurricane Gustav pushed my doctor's appointment back another month. I am starting to grow a hate for living on the Gulf Coast!

15% is allowable around here but 5% can cause a problem with some officers. Depending on the light outside sometimes 15% is dark and sometimes you can see in fine. Just changes.

First pic of my old blazer that had 15% all around on it.

This is my new Colorado with 15% sides and 5% back.

I have 20% all the way around, but on a tint meter it says 17%, so 15% is actually more like 12%. Usually is 3 degrees darker on a tint meter. Ask me how I know, lol!

To the guy above me, why did you get rid of the blazer for the stripped down version of the uglyiest truck alive IMO.

Well, my appointment is at 1PM. They use metallic films IIRC by Llumar, so I'm hoping all goes well. Supposedly it's supposed to be high quality tint. I think the one they use is Platinum film by Llumar? Not exactly 100% sure, last time I asked them about it was a month and a half ago or something. haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I have Llumar on my focus and love it. Been there for 3 years and looks perfect still. No fading what so ever, which you shouldn't have anyway with a top notch film.
Glad to hear it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Like I said, my mom got her Audi tinted here with the Llumar film and it looks great, but it was only about a month or two ago so I wanted to be sure it was good for the long haul. I figured it was since they offer a lifetime fading / peeling / etc warranty, and after looking around on google it seems to be top notch indeed.

Remember your car is silver, so that 5% if you go that route, will look really dark. I would opt for the 15%, which is plenty dark IMO.
Yeah, this is EXACTLY what I've been thinking. Like on seth's car it looks like he sprayed the windows black, haha. (no offense seth, it looks good)

I'm going to go with the 15%, appointment is in 3 hours.

Thanks a lot CA! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'll post pics when all is said and done later tonight. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Look foward to the pics! Also just remember it will look really, really dark when you first get it done. It will lighten up some. Just an FYI for ya.
Ah, didn't know that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Good to know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ah thanks for the post!
I think that looks to dark for my taste on a silver car. Think I'm definitely going to go with 15% after seeing some pics of it on a car. It looks nice on yours, but for my own car I wouldn't like it that dark, plus my car has a lighter theme to it. (no blacked out lights, silver wheels, etc)
that's what it looks like from the outside.

allso those pics are before i tinted the windshield 50%

you get on the inside and it's nice. i can still see out all my windows perfectly fine. even at night.

and the best thing about it is summer. my car stay's way cooler and is an easy escape from the harsh Utah summer sun.

i lived in florida for 6 month's. i would deff do 5% all the way around too if i lived there.

Ghey.

5% = win

That car is way to dark..............and only dumbasses tint their front windshield 5%.

That is asking for something bad to happen. Must have fawking superman eyes and of course since you claim you can see fine out of it, then everything else fails.

Not to mention is a radar for cops! I think you know.

I'm color blind so that probably effects how I saw out of the 5% windshield. Yes, once I was initially popped I was targeted so it was removed pending I get my new script and submit it to the state. Haven't got around to making an appointment yet to do so.

The only time seeing out is an issue is if it is storming at night.
