well 5% IMO is good for people who dont want to tint their front windshields because its dark enough not to be able to see in...but when you tint the windshield 15% is the same as 5% from the outside. My buddies f150 has 15% on the sides and back with a 15% bar and 35% the rest of the windshield and in the middle of the day you cant see in it.
Yeah, I think I'm going to go with the 15%

Thanks for all the help and replies guys!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah, 5% seems to be the favorite on this board. But, for practicality and looks I'm still thinking the 15 will look better. Black interior + silver car, I just think the 15 would be a good compromise.

thats what doubling up is for //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
if you want to double up on your bill i guess //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Question:

I have 20% all the way around

What will DOUBLE 20% give me... something around 5%? or will it be darker/lighter

i forgot the formula but it will give you darker than 5%

This is what 15% can look like:

Of course, your car will end up looking like mine when a moron thinks they can beat you through an intersection.

gunz4me, that's exactly what I'm going for. Looks very clean, and the front windshield is great at 50% like that. (Well, of course except for that whole front end being totaled and whatnot, haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif).

It's settled, that's what I'm going for.

What are some of the good brands of tint? I can't remember what this shop uses, but it carries a lifetime warranty from peeling, changing colors, warping, etc. I'm sure if someone types the name I'll remember it.

I want to say Llumar and Johnson films are some decent brands. My Accord had Johnsons and my other cars had Llumar.

Unless things have changed, I suggest shying away from 3m because 3m is usually thicker and harder to work with. Years ago 3m was touted as being the best, yet it was the first film to turn purple and peel off in layers.

Yeah, but I got this after the accident:

The windows are darker now, and I need to get a more up to date picture.
