I always hear that you need extra electrical support running an amp at .5 ohm.

So i was wondering if .5 ohm vs 1 or 2 ohm putting out the same power (different amps all 2k rms at .5 1 or 2 ohm) will be more of a strain on your electrical running it at .5 ohm

Yes you need a beefier electrical, and an amp that is even capable

I just have no experience with running amps that low

For power reference, I run my Visonik V4000XD (3500+rms) @ .5 ohm and I dip into the high 10's. OEM 110 amp alt, 2 mid grade batteries, big 3 in 2/0 weld cable. @ 2 ohm, (3000ish) I see about 11.6-.7

The amp doesnt like it though, gets hot fairly quick
