5 channel Amp - JL 500/5 or Focal FP5.500

I'm looking for a 5 channel amp to run my system.

I can get the JL 500/5 for about $475 the Focal FP 5.500 is around twice that. Is the Focal worth the extra money.

My planned set up is...

Front end - Focal 165 KF

Doors - MB Quart QSC 164 (2 sets)

Sub - either JL 10w6 or Focal 27V2

Suggestions/advice please.................

Its a nice amp. It's set up differently than the JL, but its a solid performer.

This is just a question but... What is the advantage of having multiple channels in an amp? I have a monoblock amp. I can still hook it up to two different subs, right? What would be the advantage of having 5 channels?

Its an all in one package... 4 speakers and a sub on one amp.

But you can put 2 subs on one channel right? BVecause I am going to hook up my mono block amp to 2 12" subs... That will work right?

Yes, you can wire a monoblock amp up to as many subs as you'd like, so long as they are wired to the correct impedance.

I don't see how the 5.1k is out of your price range, but the Focal is not. Either way, neither the 500/5 or the Focal will have enough power for a W6...well to get the best out of them. I'd go with the LRx. Save up for it...
