4ohm vs 8 ohm

i accidently got the 8 ohm subs instead of the 4 ohms which are the same price. Will two 8 ohm Kicker Cvr 12s still sound juz as good going on a 400 wat mono kicker amp?

Probably not, cause the amp will be workin on a 4ohm load instead of a 2ohm load...

they dont make 8 ohm cvr's. but the comps still wont be powered all the way.. it wont sound horrible but if you would have got the 4 ohm subs then you could have ran it at 2 ohms 2 get 400 rms for the pair. now they will only recieving 200 between the pair

if I remember correctly, 2 8 ohm speakers going into 1 channel parallel it will be driven at 4 ohms.

yes, each sub will see 100watts. They are gonna need a bit more power...

dont go by max power go by rms. also they will be splitting the 200 rms so they will be getting about a 100 a piece. it still may sound decent but it wont be close to what they can do with the right amount of power

So i basically payed for 200 extra watts of power that im not using.. i guess i can try n trade them for the 4 ohm ones but i got them from hifi sound connections off ebay. so ima have to pay return shipping and all that.

yea always check on here. also check on ebay ive seen them on there cheap also check craigslist
