Construction wise things didnt go PERFECT as far as the homedepot guy didnt cut all the piece perfect as you can see by the not cutting the perfect to the line (the lines were pretty accurate). And they were out of MDF board for for the size we needed to make the baffles inside, so we used some 3/4'' plywood that seemed sturdy enough.

We spaced the nailes a little more than a half inch apart to make sure they didnt split the wood but still brace pretty well. added liquid nails. and it all came together nicely.... its in a 2002 vw golf 4 door hatchback....BARELY fits... but it fits //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

more pics soon

hits as hard as when i had the xxx15 in my maxima in a 6cub @36Hz before. sounds just as clean but MUUUUUCH better response from 50Hz-80Hz......i didnt think the xxx15 could hit those even that well after hearing it in the old box,

the flatter frequency response all around makes the upper levels of bass hit close to as hard as the INSANE LOWS....ya, 40Hz and Below are still Nucking Futz......

Normally ill just tip the guy that cuts the wood 5 or 10 bucks to do a good job and cut it as close as possible but now they have this policy where they can only cut within a quater inch of accuracy. what bugs me is that even though im tiping them to JUST DO THIER JOB RIGHT by cutting accurately, they use that as an excuse to refuse the tip and not cut it as good as they can. last 5 boxes ive built for friends when time came for them to take money to just do thier job they're liek no, and cut the wood sloppy.......pisses me off

YESSSSSS this thing WWAANNGGGSSSS. right now i have the mtx 1501d on it but i might be switchign to the PA big bang once i get that repaired.....I think haveing a hatchback helps but still, its insane

Eww plywood

There are bajillions of different kinds of plywood my brother. Many exotic kinds of plywood. You can get very high quality plywood. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It does not look like 4ft^3 to me. Looks maybe like 2.5ft^3 from the pics...

What are the box dimmensions and port dimensions?

Way to many screws. Other than that looks good. Carpet maybe?

Ya, but is there self damping plywood?

dude, whoever got the bright idea to space the screws ( not nails btw ) every 1\2 inch is a complete idiot.

every 4~6 inches is more than enough. i bet that you split that wood all the way down the **** joint with all those screws. and i hope for gods sake that you predrilled the screw holes, or else you DID split that wood, and im surprised that it actually holds together.

good idea on the size of the box and the port tuning, but bad construction skills, i cant tell if you used wood glue, so i give you a C- for now. if you just used caulk and no wood glue, you get an F-x4
